Experience
I have drawn pictures for businesses and individuals for the last 30 years. I had my humble beginnings 36 years ago, at age 5, with a crayon drawing of a spaceship, which my mother discovered on the kitchen wall. My rewards were painfully minimal… and I never got the chance to finish the craters and moon rocks!
I quickly realized that natural media on paper and canvas was less of a pain in the butt than Crayola crayons on kitchen walls.
What sets me apart from other artists is that I picked up my first illustration job early on in my career. My big break was at age 10, with a commission for a couple of marker illustrations of Maurice De Bevere’s ‘Lucky Luke’… paid in more Hubba Bubba chewing gum (from the store owned by the client’s mom) than my face muscles could possibly cope with.
12 years ago, I realized that drawing on a computer required less of a clean up than oil and acrylic paints. I still draw in my sketchbooks. In fact, all digital works first start with me putting pen to paper.
